After teaching in many of the government institutes, Dr. Rahul Gupta is the man behind the department of Brain and spine surgeon at Fortis Hospital, Noida. He is a dynamic personality, proficient in the area of his domain. He is a one man army that caters to every aspect of the patient’s need. He has rich industry experience and was trained at Nagoya Japan, which has made him an expert in Endovascular procedures. His excellence in academics with tech-savvy nature enhances the quality of services provided by him. He has worked very hard to earn the following qualifications. He was a prominent Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon. He has been minimally invasive brain and spine surgeon and has saved many patients life. He is also a vascular and endovascular neurosurgeon in the department of the hospital. He did his MBBS at Govt. Medical College, Rohtak in 1995 and completed his MS (General Surgery) at PGIMS, Rohtak in August 2000. Later, he went for MCh (Neurosurgery) at PGIMER and Chandigarh in June 2005. Following can be described as his work experience in the field-He has been senior resident at PGIMS, Rohtak 2000-2002, Sr. Research Associate, PGIMER , Chd 2005-2006, Assistant Professor, PGIMER, Chd 2006-2007, Assistant Professor, GBPH, Delhi 2007-2009. He has also been an associate professor, GBPH, Delhi 2009-2012, Sugita Scholar at Nagoya University of Medical Sciences, Nagoya, Japan 2011. He went to become a senior consultant, Fortis Healthcare (NOIDA) in July 2012. Apart from his work experience in the medical field, he has published many books and articles which includes-Thirty one publication in various indexed International journals along with seventeen publications in various indexed Indian journals and two chapters in books. His hard work never became less.

Advanced Training and Fellowships

It led him to perform the fellowship in the intraoperative use of Fluorescent dye (5-ALA) for malignant gliomas at Graz, Austria and Leksell Stereotaxy Training course for DBS surgery at Amsterdam, Holland. He also did advocacy workshop during the Asian Oceanic Neurological conference, Delhi. He has done National Teacher Training Workshop at MAMC, New Delhi meant for doctors involved in medical graduate and post-graduate teaching. Last but not the least includes his fellowship in Endovascular Neurosurgery at Department of Neurosurgery at Nagoya at Medical University, Japan and advanced courses on Complex Spine Surgery at Kuala Lumpur and AIIMS, New Delhi.

Surgical Expertise

He has great accreditations in surgery. Dr. Rahul Gupta has performed surgeries on hundreds of patients with head and spine injury. He has a special interest in surgery for brain and spinal tumors and congenital malformations. His performance produces good results in difficult skull base tumors. The experience of Endoscopic brain and skull base (esp. pituitary tumor) neurosurgery has made him competent enough in the skill. Moreover, extensive work done in the management of CNS tuberculosis and fungal infections has given him rich knowledge. He has treated numerous complex spine ailments like metastatic tumors, osteoporotic fractures (vertebroplasty), degenerative diseases and listhesis. He has performed in the correction of the craniovertebral junction and cervical spine anomalies and fixation using screws and rods. In order to acquire in-depth knowledge, he has catered to minimally access (key whole) cervical and lumbar disc surgery.

He is the in-charge of the latest Single plane 20-20 Philips Neurocathlab with 3D DSA facility at Fortis, Noida. He has rich experience in all Neuro-Endo-Vascular procedures like coiling, embolization, stent placement and recanalisation for Stroke. He is an active member of various National and International Neurosurgical and Spine societies like NSI, NSSI, DNA, Skull Base society, Cerebrovascular society, Neurotrauma Society and AO spine society.
